GALLERY OF ART DOLLS

LES MISERABLES

PHANTOM of the OPERA

IN THE WORKS

Each doll is individually sculpted by hand and is a unique work of art! I start by building an armiture (for the head, hands and feet), and then apply the polymer clay and sculpt the features. After baking, I paint the details and add shading. For the body I must first make a wire armiture. I then sew a body stocking, stuff it and needle sculpt it into the shape I want, and attach the parts together. I make the wigs, and attatch them to the doll’s head.

I also design and sew all of the costumes, and the shoes are sculpted for each doll. The costumes are usually one of the most time-consuming parts of creating the doll, as they are extremely detailed. Most of the pieces stand around 17 inches tall and all come with a wooden base. At this point, it usually takes an average of about two months to complete each doll, depending on the complexity of the scene and costume.
