This
miniature monkey musical box is based on those popular in the Victorian era.
This piece is a little over four inches tall. When the clip in the monkey's
back is pinched, his arms move to "play" his cymbals to the music, which plays
the tune "Masquerade".
The
monkey is a one of a kind sculpture, made from polymer clay, with a wire armiture.
He is covered with fake fur, and wears a green velvet vest, trimmed with gold
and red. A tiny red "jewel" finishes off the clasp on his vest. The music box
is sculpted from paperclay, and is painted black and gold, with a black velvet
cushion that the monkey sits on.
